The Story Behind Trauma Recovery
Trauma touches Everyone!
Many of you can relate personally or have experienced trauma and probably know and love someone that has been affected by its unrelenting effects. When we can intervene and treat the 3 dimensions of a person (body, mind and human spirit), then change can begin to occur. It may take a generation but it's not an impossibility. Trauma or PTSD is not incurable, we simply need to take responsibility as a society and make the impact from a greater view than medical & psychological treatment.
Trauma and the untreated outcome of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a worldwide epidemic! Therefore it’s time that we take social responsibility to bring awareness, healing, and steps to cure it!
Trauma and its outcropping effects have dismantled human lives, families and the next generation. Children grow up in households with wounded parents that experienced trauma but was overlooked, dismissed or under treated, thus the global increase of PTSD. Statistics don't even begin to address the number of children that experience traumatic events and often develop behaviors that show up in broken relationships, anger, emotional numbness, and avoidance. This is an epidemic that needs all of our attention.
- The annual cost for anxiety disorders - $42.3 billion
- Treating PTSD is among the highest rates of health care service
- Trauma survivors of combat, terrorist attacks, natural disasters, serious accidents, assault, abuse, and sudden, unexpected loss of emotional & financial. Kids experience this daily.
- PTSD affects 7.7 million American adults in a given year.
- Over 5 million veterans are treated yearly for health issues.
- AND MUCH MORE . . .
Who We Are
The Start of Redeeming Trauma
Redeeming Trauma started when two women who personally experienced traumatic devastation, came together to find an answer and not a method to the worldwide epidemic of traumatic effects and PTSD. Deborah Larson recognized the critical effects of Trauma in her own life and family from violence, war, and repeated trauma. Then again in 2018 after the death of her son Jeremy Stoke, Firefighter in the Carr Fire, Redding CA, she turned to her partner Zaan De Jonge’ to work together treating the whole person. Zaan has also experienced personal trauma that is unimaginable to most people. The injury and traumatic effects should have destroyed her life and future. Both of these leaders are walking in Freedom because the Human Spirit needed healing, as much if not more than the psychological and the physical, and they found it.
How We Are Helping
We believe in treating the whole person. Therefore, we work in tandem with other professionals to heal the whole person. Trauma resides in the body, the Soul (mind, memories, emotions) and the Human Spirit. Our aim is awareness, education, and partnering with community and professional based programs, that supports the mission for a cure and freedom to those who are bound in traumatic injury!
